Althaus Auto (“Althaus Auto,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates althausauto.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit the Site or submit a confidential inquiry through our form.
1. Information We Collect
When you use the confidential inquiry form, we may collect:
- Name
- Phone (optional)
- Shop name / location (optional)
- Message
You may also contact us directly by email or phone; in that case we collect whatever information you choose to include.
Hosting / CDN technical logs. As part of serving the Site, our hosting provider and any content delivery network (CDN) may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps. We use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate traffic measurement (see “Website analytics (Vercel)” below). We do not use advertising pixels or similar marketing trackers such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel on the Site.
2. How information is submitted
When you submit the confidential inquiry form, your information is transmitted through a third-party form delivery service (FormSubmit) so the message can be emailed directly to jan@althausauto.com without requiring you to open a mail app. FormSubmit and our email provider process that message content to deliver it. We do not sell form submissions.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your confidential inquiry about your shop
- Schedule confidential introductions and follow-up discussions
- Communicate with you by phone, SMS, and/or email regarding your submission
4. Strict Confidentiality and Data Sharing
Selling a shop is a sensitive topic. We do not sell, trade, rent, or publicly list your personal or inquiry information. We do not share your information with competitors, employees of other shops, brokers, or third-party marketers.
We share information only with trusted infrastructure providers needed to operate (for example email hosts and website servers), subject to confidentiality expectations appropriate to those services. We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Althaus Auto or others.
5. Telephone and SMS (TCPA)
By providing your phone number, you consent to receive phone calls and SMS text messages from Althaus Auto regarding your business inquiry. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or final contract. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS.
The same substance appears on the homepage near the inquiry form. Providing a phone number does not obligate you to sell your shop or enter into any transaction.
6. Third-Party Links and Media
Images on the Site are self-hosted on our own hosting (Vercel). The Site does not embed third-party video or audio players.
If we later embed video from a third-party platform (for example Loom, Vimeo, or YouTube), those players may set cookies or similar technologies. We do not control third-party platforms; please review their privacy policies. We will update this page before or when that happens.
Form submissions are processed by FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) to deliver inquiry emails to jan@althausauto.com, as described in section 2. Aggregate traffic measurement uses Vercel Web Analytics (see below).

8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have provided to us, subject to applicable law and our ability to verify your request. To make a request, use the contact details above. We will respond within a reasonable time. Some information may remain in email archives, backups, or as required by law.
9. Website analytics (Vercel)
The Site uses Vercel Web Analytics, provided by our hosting provider Vercel Inc., to measure how the Site is used in aggregate. This typically includes information such as pages viewed, approximate geographic region, referrer, and device/browser type. Vercel documents Web Analytics as a privacy-oriented, cookieless audience measurement product for this purpose (not a marketing advertising network). Analytics data is processed by Vercel as our processor/service provider to operate the Site and improve it. We do not sell analytics data.
Because we are not using advertising cookies or cross-context behavioral advertising trackers, we do not currently display a cookie consent banner for analytics. If we later add non-essential cookies, advertising pixels, or similar trackers, we will update this Privacy Policy and add an appropriate consent mechanism where required.
10. Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising. Because of that, and because the Site does not currently use advertising cookies or advertising pixels (Vercel Web Analytics is cookieless audience measurement, not an ad tracker), Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals do not currently change Site behavior. If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and any technical response to GPC as appropriate.
11. Children and Audience
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. It is intended for a business audience of adults (18 years or older). If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. Artificial Intelligence / Chatbots
The Site does not currently use customer-facing AI chatbots or AI systems that impersonate humans. If that changes, we will add appropriate disclosures and update this policy.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Effective Date at the top of this page will change when we do. For material changes—especially to how we collect, use, share, or sell personal information, or the addition of analytics, pixels, embedded media tracking, AI chat features, or other significant practices—we will update this page and, where we have your email address and the change affects information already collected, we may also notify you by email. Continued use of the Site after an update constitutes notice of the revised policy for future interactions.
